It's always handy to know who you are dealing with, particularly when one is exposed to just their written opinions.
So, in order for you to better understand the more about the author of these insightful gems, here are a few glimpses into the mind controlling (sometimes) the fingers on this site.
As I stated in my opening post, I am apolitical as far as any affiliation to any party goes. I have a disdain for for all politicians as I believe that in all but a very, very rare cases they are self centered morons who are not working for the good of their constituents or the country as their prime objective. That said objective is only concerned about being elected and then re-elected, and only turn outwards from their inner circles of cronies to the general public when election time comes around.
However, I will call it as I see it and express my opinion - which is exactly what it is: an expression of my personal interpretation of an issue/item/event/or whatever else takes my fancy.
A lot of my posts may require some reading, and some may not. Some may be serious, some may not. Some may be on a topical issue and some may be on a weird thought or idea that randomly comes into my head.
I am not unpatriotic or anti American. But I am against these people who are destroying the very fabric of this country with their fascist type actions directed by the silent majority of the 1%.
But that is not to say I don't "lean" in any political direction. I would certainly define my views as being left of center on some issues and right of center on others.
I cannot abide rank ignorance and stupidity. For example, more than one person whom I know to be an avid Trump supporter has denied that Trump claimed he could grab a woman by her private area and "she'd like it because I'm a star"!!! I mean the words came out of the man's mouth for all to hear! He even acknowledged that he said it as he tried to dismiss it as "locker room banter"!!. They also deny he said to inject disinfectant to combat coronavirus/covid-19 when it was broadcast live. To the whole world!! That's what I call being flat ignorant and stupid - both Trump for saying it in the first place and then his supporters for trying to deny he made both those statements.
I cannot abide hypocrisy. For example, I think it's the essence of hypocrisy for Christians to be anti-abortion fanatics while at the same time advocating for their right to bear arms and for the death penalty. Another example of that character flaw is displayed by those people who post Autism Awareness items on Facebook and then vote for a guy who uses the specter of mental illness to hurl insults at other people.
I am a huge advocate for the prevention of (and survivors of) sexual assault - both women and men. I'm also an advocate of increased awareness of, increased funding for and greater availability of treatment for mental health issues.
I love my family beyond words. They come first and foremost, before any thing or any one else. They are my raison d'etre (sorry - haven't mastered inserting accents or the like yet).
I value my friends. I don't endow many people with the burden of being my friend. I do not consider everyone I come into contact with as being a "friend". A friend is someone who is very like family - I'm there to help them where ever and when ever they need. They know they can depend on me. They know they are NOT Facebook "friends". How, in the name of fuck, can you have hundreds or thousands of "friends"? That, indeed, is a matter for another day!
This blog thing here is a bit of an adventure into the unknown for me - and for you too. I thank you for taking the time to read my posts, it means a lot to me. I hope that you will enjoy this journey and I hope I can stimulate some great discussions, some deeper thought on the issues raised here and perhaps this little microcosm of the world will help us grow as people - regardless of whether you agree with me or not.
